Craving some whiteness..

As much as I adore bright colours, sometimes white is all I need.... It's classic, fresh and uplifting! My favourite white thing will have to be bedding... I mean, who doesn't like crisp white sheets??? Pretty hard not to, I think. I really like the living room area below, as it projects calmness and freshness and the pops of colour make the place seem more animated... I think it's the sort of look I'll be going for in my new place but perhaps with a slightly more classic touch....

Dreaming of.....

Dreaming of having a proper dining area......Oh, when will the day finally come??? I'm hoping July (fingers crossed - hard to rely on builders). Feel like the day will never come (so hard to be patient).. But although I most likely still have over a month left, I am still very excited! I cannot wait to be able to buy nice chairs, a large table and put my new acquired dinnerware to good use. But in the meantime, I am still dreaming.... and getting all sorts of inspirations. This is what's I'm loving at the moment...

The power of fashion...

I sometimes find myself amazed at how a piece clothing or accessory can evoke emotions, inspire and even depict our personalities and energy...but lets face it, it does! And although many might not pay much attention to fashion and style, or give it much value and might even find it frivolous and meaningless, we cannot ignore the power of fashion and style and the discourse that it can bestow upon us, without us verbalising a thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way fashion crazy, nor do I think I am expressing anything that's never been said, I am merely trying to communicate the importance of fashion. And also trying to make sense of it myself, as I constantly find myself drawn to beautiful pieces of clothing that move me, in a way that music and art can move me but I find myself almost a little bit embarrassed that it does. Anyone relate to that? How do you make sense of fashion, clothes, style? How do you rationalise its relevance and power? (Below the wonderful designs of Josh Goot - his designs kind of remind me of a mixture of Mary Katrantzou and Jil Sander - anyone else feel that way?)

Rue is live...

A wardrobe peek....

One of my favourite things to browse on blogs, is peoples wardrobes! I just can't get enough of seeing what people have in their wardrobes and see how they organise their clothes and get a glimpse of the designers, styles and colours they surround themselves with....That is why I am bringing another very special wardrobe feature to you next week... so stay tuned! Happy Friday...

Don't you just love Fridays.... The excitement of the weekend being just around the corner, the anticipation until that clock hits five, so you can finally feel free and liberated from the working environment. Such a happy moment! (although, I realise not everyone is bounded only by those hours) .... But for those whose work officially ends at the stroke of five, know what I mean? This happy image of Kate - is so fun and exciting that I felt it set the right weekend mood! I always enjoy seeing images of Kate, she is like a ray of sunshine! Always cheerful, kind of like her mum Goldie. There is just something so captivating about both Kate and Goldie, they project a happy aura, which can be some what infectious (I find) .... I hope you all get infected by somebody's happy aura this weekend (if it's not your own)...Have a fabulous weekend!

Bookcases to admire....

Have been trying to decide on the right bookcase (good looking and affordable) for the new place, think Ikea will be the way to go, gotta love Ikea. But I haven't quite decided on the colour, white or brown/black? Here are some bookcases that I'm feeling at the moment... Let me know which ones you like...

Thanks to everyone for their Birthday wishes yesterday, I had a lovely day, even got to go home early from work. Received some gorgeous peonies from hubby who rang around a handful of florists to get them (as they are not in season) and had a lovely dinner.

Dreaming of spending my birthday at home today with my beloved....with breakfast in bed and lots of movies lined up for viewing.... But alas, I will be at work but I'll still be dreaming.....

Jason Wu’s Bright and Colourful studio...

There's something so uplifting  about Jason Wu's design studio.. it is bright, creative and just feels light. My favourite room has to be the first design room below. I love the wood table, the chandelier and I especially looove the wall covered with pages from The New York Observer. Isn't that something?....Would love to hear your favourites....

Anna Dello Russo - is probably one woman in the world of fashion who never ceases to amaze! Her style is unconventional and I love that she doesn't let time or age hold her back. She takes risks and pushes all boundaries and continually moves forward with fashion and/or attributes to moving fashion forward - which one is it? She is a futurist! Who is someone that you admire when it comes to fashion?

Fashion art...

Finally I am able to blog... Blogger has been doing some crazy stuff here and even got rid of some of my comments, so please note I have not been deleting anyones comments. I'm sure I am not the only one who's experienced bizarre blogger activity. Anyway, I have came across some bold and interesting art by Teo Gonzalez and naturally had to share. His art first appears simple but the more you look, the more you realise it is quite hypnotic and seductive - well that's how I found it any way. I paired the art with Spring/Summer 2010/11 Zimmermann creations, as I found the collection incredibly hypnotic and somewhat seductive as well... Please excuse some of the the anorexic models below....
